Launched October 2007: The Opitz Room - our new Kitchen Theatre Table.
This sumptuous table, completely exclusive in the county, boasts a superb viewing area of the bustling kitchen whilst enjoying an exclusive menu created by Chef Proprietor Richard Hughes. Our intention is to make the evening truly memorable. The Opitz Room will offer a fixed 9-course tasting menu, with an accompanying wine package available, which offers a chance to sample the tremendous wine of Austrian winemaker and bon-viveur, Willi Opitz.
We will get your evening off to a fantastic start with a complimentary glass of Duval Leroy Champagne and a selection of beautiful canapés, whilst we chat about the forthcoming menu. You can, of course, choose from our usual extensive wine list.
The Opitz Room boasts air-conditioning, a bespoke granite table, leather seating and the finest china and glassware and you may even have the chance to help in the kitchen! This has to be the ultimate night out for anyone who loves good food! NEW Sunday Lunch in The Willi Opitz Room
The most convivial, fun-filled Sunday lunch to be had. Your very own roast at your very own table, overlooking all the kitchen action at The Lavender House. You choose the joint: will it be 8 hour slow cooked shoulder of lamb (one between two!), garlic and lemon roast free-range chicken, loin of Dingly Dell pork with Bramley apples and prune stuffing, or a roast fore rib of aged local beef? You can carve or leave it to us! Begin with a platter of Cley Smoke House salmon, our homage to Norfolk cheesemaker, Mrs Temple, potted ham, local salad leafs. Finish with a great British pudding: baked Horlicks rice pudding, jam roly-poly, bread and butter pudding, sticky toffee or treacle sponge - you choose! Two big puddings and an even bigger jug of custard on the table. We'll also give you a Champagne cocktail to get the party started! From £42.50pp
